Walking for Talia & Myra: A Legacy of Fight and Love
We are walking in loving memory of our beautiful, sweet Talia—a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, whose life was taken far too soon. At just 27 years old, Talia passed away on June 14, 2026, after fighting ovarian cancer with incredible grace, strength, and courage. Our family's heartbreak is deeply compounded by history; 21 years ago, we also lost Talia’s grandmother, Myra, to this exact same disease.
Though our hearts are completely broken by our recent loss, the bright lights and beautiful spirits of both Talia and Grandma Myra live on in everyone who loved them. We walk to honor them both and to stop this generational heartbreak.
Our team, Talia’s Trekkers, has joined the HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer walk on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Rosland Park in Edina, Minnesota. We are raising vital funds for the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) (https://mnovarian.org/hom-teal-strides/) to support life-saving research, early detection tools, and patient support services. Every step we take brings us closer to a cure.
