As the mom of treasures in wheelchairs I cannot overemphasize the need for concrete sidewalks to roll them on. (Stones don't work at all, gravel is impossible - our family gets this!)

But can you imagine pushing Gems in wheelchairs for months during rainy season in Uganda each year? Or could you imagine struggling to walk with a walker during rainy season without a sidewalk?  

So here's my birthday wish:  The Gems of The Gem Foundation Uganda are of infinite value and deserve the very best we can give.  Let's pave the sidewalk together!

PSS.  That's Nehemiah - one of the Gems in the picture with me. He's one of 43 of my most favorite Gems!   When I met Nehemiah he absolutely stole my heart!  Each time I am in Uganda I can't wait to see him. Nehemiah is a delight to all who know him, he's tenderhearted, kind, and he's working hard to learn to walk with a walker.  A sidewalk for Nehemiah will enable him to move his walker around his home - Gem Village.  Let's do this!
