Raising HOPE (Help, Opportunity, Passion, Empowerment) is a women’s mentoring program United Way created in response to a community need. Its intent is to help women in need of support develop and achieve educational and career goals in order to become financially stable and self-sufficient. Our experience has proven that having a mentor to guide, advise, and encourage is a powerful instrument of change.

United Way of Ulster County believes that it is the right of every individual in our community to have programs and services available to help them achieve their greatest potential. Each year United Way of Ulster County - through its hundreds of local donors and volunteers - raises and allocates funds to support programs that focus on affordable childcare, housing and emergency assistance, literacy training, mental health services, parent education, substance abuse prevention, and vocational training. For the last 68 years, money raised in our community has stayed here in Ulster County.
