In August of 2020 and at 10 years old we had to rush Leannah to Children’s Hospital with what we thought was an appendix burst. Easy right, an emergency surgery and she would be better in a few weeks. Boy oh boy were we wrong. Leannah was suffering from a pancreatitis attack and spent a full week in the hospital with IV’s, monitors, and a morphine drip. Seeing her like this and being the only person other than Chad that could go into the hospital was heart wrenching. We were lucky enough to have a floor level room in the emergency room in Broomfield. This allowed my parents and the girls to come see her through the window. She was able to have a phone conversation with them well they stood there looking at each other. This was a full week of her in the hospital to control pain and calm her pancreas. Fast forward to today with multiple hospital stays and a diagnosis of pancreas disease Leannah is thriving in high school and not letting this hold her back.
The purpose of this is to ask for donations for a very important cause. Leannah has been invited to a summer camp called Camp Hope. This camp is for kids suffering from pancreas issues to help them meet others going through the same issues and it also allows them to be kids. This camp is completely free and we are very blessed that she will get this opportunity. If you can donate anything will help. Thank you for reading and thank you for supporting Leannah and Camp Hope.
