Every child deserves a hopeful childhood.

This April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and I’m raising funds for the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC).

As you may know, I lead the incredible team at DCAC, and every day I see the impact this work has on children and families in our community

Last year DCAC:
• Reached 4,771 children through prevention and education programs
• Conducted 740 forensic interviews for children who disclosed abuse
• Provided mental health services to 624 children and families

Child abuse is far more common than most people realize:

• 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys experience sexual abuse before age 18
• Many children never tell anyone, or wait years before speaking up

Organizations like DCAC ensure that when a child does speak up, they are believed, supported, and protected.

• $125 supports a therapy session for a child beginning their healing journey
