Hello, my name is Moira Lord.  I am raising money for Hospice of the Upstate through Western Carolina Sailing Club's fundraising regatta.  This regatta weekend is one of my FAVORITES!! My whole family works the regatte!! Well, my dad's family.  My Grammie and PopPop are the food people, they make sure everyone is fed.  My dad is either racing or on the race course making a race happen.  My mom does the raffle.  Someone gives her a microphone, why? She is so loud!

Why are you raising money for Hospice of the Upstate?

I am raising money for Hospice of the Upstate because they help people when they need it the most.  Noone should die uncomfortable or alone.  They make sure the person is as good as they can.  My Granddaddy passed away a few years ago.  He had Hospice care.  They made sure he was taken care of so my family could focus on my Granddaddy, spending as much time on just him as they could.  My family is very glad Hospice was there.

Why should people help your fundraising?

It isn't about me. It is about helping others.  We should help others, that is why God made us.
