Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

We are walking for Wyatt! I hope you'll join me by supporting my fundraising efforts as I work to raise funds for life-saving research.

Wyatt was prenatally diagnosed with a rare (1 in 5,000) congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). There is currently no known cause. With this condition, the left side of the heart either does not develop or is severely small (hypoplastic) and unable to function properly. It is also referred to as having half a heart. The typical treatment for this defect is a series of 3 staged open-heart surgeries (the Norwood, Glenn, and Fontan) to essentially re-wire the heart to pump blood to both the body and the lungs as half a heart, also known as a single ventricle heart.

Wyatt has now had 3 open heart surgeries (one being unplanned) with the expectation to have at least one more (Fontan) around 5 years of age. We continue to take things day by day, week by week, as we continue this fight with Wyatt. He has already proven to be the strongest baby we know and continues to fight big!
