An ovary should be the size of an almond; mine was the size of a grapefruit, then I went to surgery, woke up to cancer and had chemo two weeks later.  How did I not know about this possibility? Why had NO ONE in my life ever even mentioned OVARIAN cancer - I mean I did fundraising for every breast cancer survivor I met. 

From my bed and before learning my stage and tumor grade  I remember seeing the tearful face of my husband as he tried to learn what this disease was and how frightful the statistics are. I didn't and still don't want to die young. 

I'm 1C grade 2 Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma - mine is like jello, some ovarian tumors are like sand.  Who knew? Ok, now you know - so become aware of what ovaries, Fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix and vagina actually do when they are not making babies! They are powerful tools (or weapons) depending on what your body does with them!  

Learn the symptoms of sharp pain in the stomach or back, changes in your bleeding habits, feeling full or abnormally bloated often, or urine/bowel habits.  Make sure your doctor takes you seriously or get another opinion!

Now, I ask you to consider a donation to Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.  They fund the research needed so that I don't die young.  My strongest hope is to take this advocacy to my great granddaughters!!
