There are so many ways to fight hunger... and each way can earn you points!


Teams can earn points by completing actions AND by having their Team Members complete actions. The most successful Teams will be those with Team Members who are actively engaged throughout the Hunger Action Month Challenge. The Challenge runs from September 1st - September 30th, and Teams can compete all month long!

There will be limited-time opportunities during the Hunger Action Month Challenge for extra points, typically through contests or mini-challenges. Make sure to stay updated with our e-mails so you don't miss out!

Once you've found an Action to complete, do your stuff and then click the Submit Points button so that we can add your points to your total.


Each Team Can Earn Points by:

  • Raising Funds: Earn 1 point for every $1 raised

          This will be automatically calculated each time that points are updated.

  • Recruiting New Team Members: Earn 20 points for each Team Member

          This will be automatically calculated each time that points are updated.


Each Team Member Can Earn Points by:

  • Raising Funds: Earn 1 point for every $1 raised (will go towards your Team's total fundraising amount)

          This will be automatically calculated each time that points are updated.

  • Learning About Hunger: Earn 5 points for each article, podcast, or video where you learn about hunger or food insecurity

          Submit a short response (1-3 sentences) about a fact you learned and a link to the article or blog post.

  • Sharing About Hunger: Earn 10 points for each e-mail or social media post you share about Northern Illinois Food Bank, the Hunger Action Month Challenge, or other hunger-related issues. 

          Submit a screenshot picture, copy of the e-mail, or a link to the post for verification.

  • Participating in Go Orange Day: Earn 10 points and submit a Go Orange Day selfie on Thursday, September 10th.

          Wear something orange (even a hat or a necklace will do!) and submit a picture.

  • Tuning in for our Virtual Event: Earn 20 points for checking out our virtual event, A Taste That Matters, on Thursday, September 24th at 6 PM CST on our Facebook page.

          Submit a short response (1-3 sentences) about the favorite moment you watched!

Any Team Member can submit points by clicking the Submit Points button and completing the short Google Form. On average, it takes less than 2 minutes to submit an activity!


Points will count towards the overall Team, but there are special prizes to be announced for some of the top Team Members overall!
