Hello! My name is Ashley Bair and I am fundraising for the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk! My story starts in 2019, playing competitive soccer. I was left with massive unexplained bruises. Looking into the cause got cut short because of the pandemic in 2020. As I started high school, the bruises continued. The turning event in my story is getting my wisdom teeth out. I never healed, continued to bleed, and had massive bruises on my face for weeks. If it wasn’t for that oral surgeon recommending blood work, we would have never known! Finally, in 2022, after many doctor's appointments, procedures, bruises, and bleeding, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Von-Willebrand Disease. I found out about the Idaho chapter getting an infusion before another surgery, from a child life specialist. Thanks to the Idaho Chapter for National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, I was able to connect with others and have a sense of "normalcy" again! I want to fundraise to give back to others the way I have been helped!
