Every time we throw food away, we’re not just wasting a meal—we’re wasting the water, energy, and land it took to make it. Most of that food ends up in landfills, creating methane instead of value. But what if that same trash could turn into something useful—automatically? What if your trash can didn’t just collect waste… but fixed it? This is Bio Blend. Bio blend reduces landfill waste, simplifies composting, and turns everyday food scraps into something valuable—making sustainability effortless and accessible for everyone. My project aligns with STG 2: Zero hunger by encouraging people to repurpose their waste. The Bio blend detects when your waste gets to a certain weight, and will grind up any discarded food with the press of a button. This food will turn into fertilizer that can be easily used for gardening. This small addition to your household will reduce food waste and fuel our food, instead of our landfill. Using this prototype, we should be able to expand on composting, and make another gadget to benefit our community. Your investment makes a difference. Thank you for believing in student innovation.
