The Smart Donation Bin we created was aimed at addressing the challenge of overflowing donation bins. Sometimes people do not get notified when donation bins are already full, leading to excess waste. Our project would allow organizations to monitor the state of bins and take action when needed.
In our project, we implemented a smart bin equipped with ultrasonic sensors, LEDs, OLED display, and an Arduino. The ultrasonic sensors measure the state of the bin, while the LEDs indicate its current state using colors. The display allows showing custom messages and makes it easier to interact with the bin.
