January has brought heavy rains to Kosovo, resulting in flooding across major cities – some have reached a state of emergency. Nearly 700 homes have been destroyed and there’s been a major shortage of clean drinking water. Islamic Relief is on the ground working with local partners to distribute emergency aid including food, hygiene kits, and clothing. Once immediate needs are met, we plan to focus on long-term development including home reconstruction.

As much as we’ve been able to accomplish, there is still so much more to do. If we work together—with YOU—we can make the vision of a better Kosovo a reality for so many more of our sisters and brothers in need.

Political instability and extreme poverty have greatly affected the people of Kosovo. Almost one-quarter of the population lives below the poverty line and unemployment among the youth and women has risen greatly. With your support, we can help bring hope to the people of Kosovo. 

Islamic Relief has been in Kosovo since 2013. Since then, our focus has been on long-term development assistance to help pull vulnerable communities out of the cycle of poverty.
