My JA Experience
As a student in the Central DeWitt School District, I spent my years at Ekstrand Elementary going through the Junior Achievement programs. I have vivid memories of the classroom visits, but one stands out. Through these programs, I learned how to write a check. This, along with other life skills, are some of the most important things I learned in school.
After graduation, I knew I wasn't ready to be done with the Junior Achievement organization. I am currently going into my second year of presenting in a classroom and can honestly say that the experience has changed my life. The simple notion that I will be the person giving these kids the same knowledge and memories that I have is heartwarming and a feeling I can't even describe.
Ever since I began working at First Central in 2015, this event has been my favorite. It's not only a fun event to take part in, but it is for one of the best organizations I have yet to encounter.
If you've been through the program or have had a child who has experience with JA, then I ask that you consider donating. You know firsthand how special the organization is. If you don't have any experience with JA, then I still ask that you consider donating so that they can stay in the classroom for the years to come, so that you will hopefully can cross paths with them.
