Fundraising Ideas

Make it Tangible: Let people know how many students will learn how to get a job, manage their money, or start a business for different gift amounts:

  • $77 gives one student the opportunity to participate in JA Finance Park
  • $100 covers the cost of one kit of classroom materials
  • $300 gives one student the opportunity to participate in JA’s summer camp
  • $2,000 gives a class of 25 students the opportunity to participate in JA

Engage Management: The highest fundraising team would be motivated to earn the following:

  • Tickets in the corporate suite at an event or concert
  • VIP office parking pass (for those with large lots, you can offer a reserved spot close to the building!)
  • Breakfast burritos for team/office
  • Pie your boss in the face

Make it Interactive!

  • Play office guessing games (how much candy is in the jar, office trivia, etc.)
  • Host a fitness/wellness challenge where employees can pay a small entry fee, emphasize that all proceeds go towards Junior Achievement. It's a great way for employees to bond!
  • Does your office ever organize activities like March Madness or Fantasy Football? It could be a fun way to engage people in the office, and the winner could choose to donate the prize money to Junior Achievement—either in full or by contributing a portion
  • Have participants attend a karaoke night and pay a small entry fee
  • Everybody loves a happy hour- attendees can pay a small entry fee to go

Food for Thought: Bring out your inner chef to raise money and awareness for your team through:

  • Bake Sale
  • Ice Cream Party
  • Chili Cook-Off
  • Dip Party

Other ways to fundraise and have fun!

  • Birthday Party Donations: Can’t think of what to say when people ask what you want for your birthday? Instead of gifts, ask them to donate to JA!
  • Restaurant Fundraiser: Host a restaurant fundraiser where people can take their family to eat or have a staff dinner event there and restaurants work out a deal where a certain percentage goes to the fundraiser
    • Examples include Krispy Kreme, Chipotle, See’s Candies, and Cinnabon
  • Casino night: Host a casino night with fake money and have a raffle where people donate real money to get game money or raffle tickets to use for the night. Winners get prizes
