The Friends of Jim Society
The Friends of Jim Society, a collection of close friends of James “Jim” Foley, banded together in 2011 to secure Jim’s release from Libya after he was detained while working as a freelance journalist.
In 2014,following Jim’s abduction and murder in Syria by ISIS, the Friends of Jim Society committed to amplifying Jim’s legacy of moral courage as exemplified throughout his life and career as a teacher, a journalist, a writer, a friend, and a global citizen.
