Why We Run

Joy Meadows is a foster care community serving children and families in Kansas City and beyond. We provide housing, therapy, resources, and community support so children impacted by foster care can find stability, healing, and joy.

Children in foster care often experience instability, trauma, and isolation. Caregivers can feel overwhelmed and alone.

The Joy Run exists to remind families that they are not alone—and to help fund practical, trauma-informed support that leads to real healing for voiceless children.

When the community shows up together, foster care changes.

All runners are welcome all morning!

Special moments throughout the day celebrate different parts of our community.

8:00 AM – Check-In Opens

9:00 AM – Church & Partner Team Celebration
Donuts, team photos, course runs together, and event announcements.

10:30 AM – Foster Families & Friends Celebration
Exclusive foster family swag, complimentary food and prizes, agency tables, and connection with other families.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (All Morning Long)
Live MC, music, games, photo booth, yard games, food trucks, and booths featuring vendors, agencies, and Joy Meadows programs.
