Throughout the 2020 pandemic some friends and I decided to start a small cycling club which quickly grew to be one of the biggest in south Florida! Now, 305ycle is a club that is much #MoreThanCycling. We have partnered up with a local organization that looks to make an impact to fight the #1 cause of death and disability in the US: heart disease. The Florida Heart Research Foundation funds programs to facilitate research, education, and prevention of heart disease for Florida Residents. I was lucky to be awarded a grant from the foundation to fund my doctoral research as a biomedical engineer at FIU (read the article linked below). Setting up this fundraiser to raise funds and awareness to a cause that I am directly a part of is pretty nuts and I'm eternally grateful for this opportunity. In the middle of a south Florida summer we will be riding from Brickell in downtown Miami to Key West. A whopping 170 miles!
