Please hike with me and other brave Hiking Baracudas on Sat., Sept. 18th at 12 noon at Dora Kelly Nature Park at 5750 Sanger Ave., Alexandria. It’s a beautiful park with a meandering stream and several foot-crossings on pilings a few inches above the shallow water. It’s fun and not scary at all. Just pull into the school parking lot, drive to the back (downhill a little) and park at the south end, where the trail begins.
We’re hiking to raise funds to help older kids in foster care here in the US and in orphanages around the world in finding permanent connections to caring adults and families!
My hope is to raise $2,500. Over 440,000 kids in the US and an estimated 8 -15 million kids growing up without parents worldwide.
The hike is helping give kids the chance to start a new chapter and live a life of hope, love, and acceptance! Kids like Julie who was adopted through a Kidsave program (via Zoom of course) in the midst of lockdown this past December 2020 after being in foster care for four years.

I’d like to see every county - and every country -- adopt this model and do away with long-term foster care!
