In March 2026, I’ll be joining 16 other incredible living kidney donors to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania — aiming to summit on World Kidney Day.

Why? Because we’re determined to show the world that living kidney donation doesn’t slow you down — it lifts you up. Literally. Like, 19,341 feet up.

My Story

On May 11, 2022, I donated my right kidney to a stranger. That one decision kicked off a chain reaction — three people received life-saving transplants. I had the incredible honor of meeting my recipient and others in our donation chain. Nothing compares to knowing you’ve helped save a life.  Plus, it’s pretty wild to know your internal organ is out there living its best life in someone else.

Now, I’m proud to climb as a representative of Kidney Donor Athletes (KDA) — a nonprofit that empowers and celebrates living donors through community, education, and adventure. 

Over 90,000 people are currently waiting for a kidney transplant. On average, 11 people die every day waiting. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Living donation is safe, powerful, and life-changing — for both the recipient and the donor. Your support helps us raise awareness, inspire others, and maybe even save lives.
