For the last seven years, I've participated in the LA Marathon as part of Team Kitten Rescue. Every year, I decide I'm not going to do it again. Every year, something happens that makes it impossible for me NOT to run. This year's "thing," is Waverly. She continues to inspire me. How can I not run when she's working so hard?
If you're reading this, you no doubt know Waverly's story, so I won't go into that here. All I'll say is that Waverly absolutely would not be here if not for Kitten Rescue.
Since 1997, Kitten Rescue has been dedicated to caring for the forgotten felines of the massive greater Los Angeles area. We rescue upwards of 1,100 cats and kittens Every, Single. Year! Three years ago, we even built a nursery where bottle babies are cared for 24 hours a day. It's quite possibly the cutest place on earth!
Most of our weaned kittens and cats are cared for in foster homes like mine, but we also run a true no-kill santuary where we work to find homes for even more cats. Last year, thanks to the funds we raised through the Marathon, we were able to add an adoption center! It's provided a huge boos to the number of cats who will find forever homes!
