Welcome, we are Graduate Students from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) Latinx Mental Health concentration. We got involved with Lakeview Food Pantry because many families and individuals have suffered from food deprivation caused by the economic shutdown from the COVID-19 pandemic. Since late March, the disproportionate effect of the Coronavirus has struck Communities of Color and low-income families in devasting ways. For instance, 27-million people have filed for unemployment, schools have closed, coupled with lack of paid sick leave and other work benefits. Together, this has impacted many individuals, families, and communities who are struggling to put food on their tables. Lakeview Pantry has double the amount of food they have given to different communities throughout Chicago during this pandemic. We want to support in growing that amount. For each $1 donated to Lakeview pantry, they will provide 10 pounds of food for families and individuals in need during this global pandemic.
