2024 marks ten years since I realized I had something going on with my movement.  In April 2014 I noticed my right arm didn't swing when I walked.  Four years later, after seeing several doctors and completing several tests, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.  Thankfully, the Oklahoma Parkinson's Alliance (OPA) was available with answers and resources for those battling the disease.  I've learned through the OPA how important exercise and voice therapy is and if it weren't for the organization's continued efforts in bringing that support to patients and their care providers, I know my quality of life would be very different than it is.  Connecting to the right people makes all the difference.
