Shortly after Liam was born, his doctors noticed that something was wrong. His eyes were not tracking and he was not meeting his milestones. After stays at 3 different hospitals, Liam was diagnosed with a rare condition called septo-optic dysplasia. Lost and scared of this diagnosis, we turned to Lighthouse Central Florida for help with raising a blind child. 

Originally, Liam's doctors told us that he would never walk or talk. At 4 months old, Liam began receiving free intervention services from Lighthouse. His vision mentor has worked with him for 3 years at no cost to us. Liam is now a healthy, happy 4 year old who is thriving in school, walks, talks, jumps, climbs, sings, and loves his Mama.
