Hello, my name is Kody Silver and I have been riding for 8 years at the now DC location of MET. Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to do something with horses, whether a career or simply volunteering whenever I could, horses were always a part of my plan for the future. In the winter of 2024 I started volunteering at a local horse rehab and rescue which made me realize just how much I wanted a future with horses. Through the rescue I was able to see the very real reality of horse abuse and neglect and in that moment I knew I wanted to be a part of the change and future of these horses, if not them, any other horses going through abuse and/or neglect. I am proud to say I was accepted into UMASS Amherst’s precollege Equine Science program which will allow me to start my path and future towards my dream of helping horses on a medical level.
