Event Description

On September 17, a team of four intrepid Glens Falls Masters swimmers will enter the waters of Lake George and swim the full 32 miles to the far shore. Since Diane Struble first made the crossing in 1958, only nine other solo swimmers and one relay have accomplished this feat!

We start at 5:00 PM on Saturday and swim through the night, with the swimmers and the boat illuminated by glow sticks and safety lights.  We will rotate swimmers each hour and likely spend more than 15 hours total in the water.  We plan to finish early-morning on Sunday, September 18 with tired bodies and joyful souls.

Through this swim, our team is raising money for the Glens Falls YMCA Aquatics Programs, a not-for-profit organization that teaches many people to swim be safe and enjoy the water and $300 for The Fund for Lake George, a not-for-profit, privately funded organization that is dedicated to the protection of Lake George.

Please help us bring swimming to the lives of children and adults of the Lake George Area!
