What is Light Up Leader Dog presented by Meijer?

Light Up Leader Dog, presented by Meijer, is a holiday giving campaign that helps create life-changing partnerships between people who are blind or visually impaired and their future Leader Dogs. The campaign kicks off during Rochester's Lagniappe festivities on November 23, with complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts, plus opportunities to meet Future Leader Dogs and Puppy Raisers and shop unique Leader Dog gifts. Throughout December, we invite our community to make a meaningful gift and help light the way for future Leader Dog teams.

We're inviting 100 supporters to help raise $6,000 and create life-changing opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. What is Lagniappe?

Lagniappe, a Creole term meaning “a little something extra,” perfectly describes the Rochester Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) special touch with the debut of The Big, Bright Light Show, presented by Fox Automotive. On this day, Downtown Rochester comes to life with the official holiday lighting and fireworks spectacular.
