Graciela is from Peru and is an avid student in our program and does everything she can to better herself and her family. She took 3 classes with us this year to achieve her goals in America. 

We lend our time and talents at Literacy New Jersey to encourage and help students like Graciela achieve their dreams. With Literacy, anything is possible. The impossible becomes possible and the challenges become our successes. Here are some highlights this year in Middlesex County: 

We continued a Digital Literacy class at the Woodbridge Library so students are able to learn new skills so they can get a better job and navigate the digital world in English. We also expanded the Middlesex ESL program to Perth Amboy and Monroe Township so we can serve more students. 

Our 30 selfless, dedicated, and passionate tutors donated over 1,400 hours of class time and taught over 200 students once per week who spent over 6,000 hours learning English. These students  went on to earn their GED, passed their citizenship test, learned computer skills to get a better job, helped their children in school, and involved themselves more within the community.
