Join the Match to Bring Technology to Adult Learners!
Every day, adult learners come to Literacy NJ Mercer Programs determined to build better futures for themselves and their families. Today, our students’ ability to find and keep meaningful employment, and to communicate with service providers, landlords, healthcare providers, and schools — just to name a few — depends on their level of digital literacy.
In our Digital Literacy classes, students are building the confidence and practical skills they need to succeed in today’s technology-driven world. They are learning how to:
- Create resumes and cover letters, and apply for jobs
- Communicate clearly and professionally in digital spaces
- Earn digital certifications that strengthen their resumes
- Complete forms and everyday paperwork independently
- Build confidence for work, school, and daily life tasks
But there is one major challenge standing in the way: We urgently need new loaner laptops. Many of our current computers are outdated and unreliable, making it difficult for students to fully participate and practice the skills they are working so hard to learn.
That’s why we are thrilled to announce an incredible matching challenge from volunteer and Leadership Council member Julie McLaughlin and her husband Mark: The McLaughlins will donate a computer for every $500 raised by Mercer Programs — all the way up to $10,000!
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to maximize this match and provide new laptops for adult learners in our Digital Literacy program.
Every gift helps put reliable technology directly into the hands of students working toward better jobs, greater independence, and brighter futures. Please donate today and help us meet this match!
Together, we can open doors to opportunity — one laptop, one learner, and one success story at a time.
