Adult learners come to Literacy NJ for free ESL, GED, U.S. Citizenship and Basic Literacy classes because literacy will help them obtain a better job, a high school diploma, citizenship, or the confidence to speak to a doctor, teacher or neighbor.
Because of the challenge of recent unexpected federal funding cuts, schools and non-profit organizations have cut back on classes. BUT, we remain resilient, trusting that those who understand the importance of literacy in this moment will help us sustain southern NJ.
We need your help to continue meeting the needs of our 1,808 students and to continue training and supporting more than 400 tutors. Thousands of personal and professional goals are met by our students each year. Help us meet our goal – in three short days – and continue empowering our adult learners.
