Jimmy's Justice League

A little over a year ago we noticed a lack of growth in Jimmy's speech and even a loss of some of the words he had already mastered. We started working with Early Intervention in December and found out that there was a very high likelihood that Jimmy was on the autism spectrum. In the middle of February, Jimmy turned 3 and started going to preschool through the IU, he's able to get the speech and occupational therapy he needs, while socializing with kids his age.
Just two days after his birthday (and first day of preschool) we took the trip to DuPont hospital in Delaware to have Jimmy evaluated for Autism. They were able to easily see that he met the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder and he was diagnosed that day.
It's been a fast and furious few months for us, but Jimmy has come so far already.
Autism is part of what makes Jimmy special and we want to build acceptance and break down stigmas while doing everything we can to give Jimmy the most successful start possible.
If you have any questions about autism or how it is affecting Jimmy please let me know! I'd love to share with you.
