As we walked out of our last doctor's appointment, we were more than excited to meet our first born child. Afterall, we now had a date and time for our scheduled c-section: March 14, 2016 at 7:30am. A few days later, however, I realized that the baby had not been as active as they normally were throughout the day. I drove to the hospital that Friday, March 11th, to be monitored, as a way to both make sure the baby was okay and to ease my anxiety. After several attemps at trying to find a heart beat, the nurse brought a doctor in to do an ultrasound. After a few minutes, he said the worst four words any mother should ever have to hear: your baby is stillborn. Later that night, at 10:50pm, I gave birth via c-section to the most beautiful little boy and we named him Cameron Alexander. We were fortunate enough to spend the next 4 days with Cameron with the help of a cuddle cot, which was donated by Lydie's famliy. One of my nurses told us Lydie's story and suggested we consider participating in the Lydie's Loop event, as a way to find support while we grieved the loss of our son. That is what brought us to participate in this event last year and again this year.
