1. Who is Star Legacy Foundation and what is the Let's Not Be Still event?

The Star Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to reducing pregnancy loss and neonatal death and improving care for families who experience such tragedies.  We are a community of families, health professionals, researchers, policy makers, and individuals dedicated to ensuring that every pregnancy gets its best chance at the happy ending it deserves.  Let’s Not Be Still! is an upbeat community event designed to raise awareness, celebrate our babies, and create hope for families who are grieving their children.  Learn more about our mission here http://starlegacyfoundation.org/mission-and-vision/ and the programs your fundraising helps support here https://starlegacyfoundation.org/what-we-do/.

2. What happens if it rains?

Events will take place rain or shine. Layers and sunscreen are recommended!

3. What's the difference between the two Let's Not Be Still! New York events? Are they both family-friendly?

Let's Not Be Still! New York is two separate events that take place in two different locations on two different dates - both events are organized by the NY Metro Chapter of the Star Legacy Foundation, and funds raised at both events are pooled to support the mission and programs of the Star Legacy Foundation.  Since the NY Metro Area spans a large geographic region and includes millions of people, we hold multiple events to ensure that as many families as possible can participate.

Both events are family-friendly, upbeat gatherings with many kids and babies in attendance, along with grandparents, extended family, and friends. We encourage families to invite loved ones to join us in celebrating and remembering all babies amongst the stars, including the special baby (or babies) your family is missing. (Please be sure to submit your baby's name on the registration form so that we can include him/her on the event t-shirt!)

The Long Island event will be held at North Hempstead Beach Park, 175 W. Short Road, Port Washington, NY 11050.  There will be a 5K run and a 1-mile walk in the park.  Please visit this website https://secure.qgiv.com/event/lnbsny2109/ to register to attend the Long Island event.

The Westchester County event will be held at Meadow Pond Elementary School, 185 Smith Ridge Road, South Salem, NY 10590.  There will be a 5K walk and run, which both follow the same route. Please visit this website  https://secure.qgiv.com/event/lnb/ to register to attend the Westchester event.

Both events are stroller-friendly, but dogs are only allowed at the Westchester event due to County Park regulations prohibiting dogs at the Long Island venue.

4. What are my responsibilities as a participant?
