Thank you for visiting our page to make a difference in raising stillbirth awareness, critical funding for research, and to honor babies like Oliver Cohlan Hughes and so many who never had a chance to take a breath outside of the womb.  

As many of you may already know, my sister Hilary and her husband Tyler lost their first son at 34 weeks gestation, Oliver was stillborn on January 25, 2013, a day my family and I will never forget. Prior to this day her pregnancy was considered "healthy" with no known risk factors or issues throughout the 34 weeks.  It was shocking to hear the dreaded words "there is not heartbeat" from the doctor at Hilary's 34 week routine appointment.  After the horrific experience of having to deliver Oliver's lifeless body into a silent delivery room, my family and I felt angry, deeply saddened, confused, and shocked.  As we began to learn more about stillbirth what stuck out was there is little known and not enough funding for research to ensure that this tragedy does not occur to others.  The Star Legacy Foundation is working to lower the alarming statistic of 1 out of 160 pregnancies ending in stillbirth by providing stillbirth prevention, education, advocacy, and support to families.
