On December 8th, 2015, at 35 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby, my husband and I heard the words no expecting parent should ever hear. "I'm sorry there's no heartbeat." The following day I was induced in at 1:46 p.m. I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen in my entire life. My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend the next 18 hours with her -holding her, hugging her, kissing her, and telling her how loved she is. But then the time came, and we left the hospital with empty arms and broken hearts.

I am irrevocably changed by Ella's death Although a piece of my heart is missing, being her mother is my greatest gift. I am hers, and she is mine. She will always be my first born - my beautiful light, and that is why I walk. I walk to honor and remember Ella because she is missed every second of every minute of every day.
