From Brooke: From the second we found out we were expecting, we dreamed of what our life would be like when our little one arrived. I was so excited to show and give my little boy the world. At 30 weeks pregnant, when the doctor said the words that no parent wants to hear, “I’m sorry, there’s no heart beat” our world crumbled. My heart shattered. Preston was taken from us and this world far too soon. There would be no more kicks, no “firsts,” no bedtime stories. Holding our sweet Preston in my arms was the proudest and saddest moment of my life. Every day hurts, but it is the special moments that we dreamed of and planned for that hurt the most.

Through the love and support of our family, friends and colleagues, we are getting stronger every day. Our goal is to raise awareness about stillbirth, help others who are in our devastating situation and support research and prevention. We love you Preston.

From Scott: At 30 weeks pregnant, Brooke and I were devastated to learn that our sweet son Preston’s heart had stopped beating. In an instant, our life went from seemingly perfect to flipped upside down.  Less than 24 hours later we met our stillborn son face to face. The short time we spent with him were moments that we will never forget. We told him that we loved him, asked him to watch over us, and tried to soak in the minutes as we knew we would not be returning home as a family of 3.

Although he is not here with us today, his memory will live in our hearts forever. Not a moment or day passes that I don’t wish I could share with my son.  

Brooke and I have been surrounded by our loving family and friends and are moving forward one day at a time.  We are hoping to raise awareness for stillbirth and help prevent other parents from suffering through this tragedy.  We love you Preston and miss you everyday.
