Caius is forever written into the history of our family. He is missed beyond measure and loved beyond all time.

I could never explain the mix of joy and pain it is parenting Caius. I'm forever grateful to be his mother, and forever heartbroken that he isn't here growing up alongside his brothers and sister. The brief time spent with him is sacred and treasured memories. We will always include him. You may not understand it, but that's ok. We only ask that you allow us to do what our hearts need, because when someone you love dies, you're changed forever and their lives still matter. Death does not negate our love for Cai.

...and so, we invite you to help us honor his life and remember him with us by either joining us in person, joining us virtually, or donating to our team, Birds of a Feather.

Our family will walk in person on Sunday September 20th at Bath Community Park. You may also walk in Columbus at Hannah Park on September 27th. If you're unable to attend either event, you are always welcome to participate virtually. Donations are always welcomed as well.

A message from the kids:

We miss Cai every day and wonder what he'd be doing in all the moments we get to live that he does not. We wonder what he'd look like and if he'd be observant like Bain, resilient like Finnick, passionate like Malec, curious like Hale, independent like Ayla, crazy like all of us!!! We wonder what his voice would sound like, we wonder if he'd love sports more than video games, if he'd love Godzilla like us, we wonder what foods he'd like, we wonder if he'd love Halloween with all the passion that the rest of us do especially because October is his birth month... we wonder if all the things we think about him are true or if there is something totally different that we haven't even thought of... We wonder and wonder and some days it makes us sad, because we just don't know, no matter how much we believe we know.. it's confusing and we don't want others to have to live without their brother (or sister). We wonder why Caius isn't here and we wonder why other people look at us funny when we talk about him. We love him. Death is sad but our parents (and Cai) have taught us that love lives on and our brother will always be our brother. 

Caius died. We miss him. We love him!
