More than
a mustache.

In 2014, 32 guys grew mustaches for Lynchburg kids. Today, 300+ growers raise money every season for more than 40 local charities. Here's what that looks like.

We don't pick one winner. What we raise each season is shared across more than 40 Lynchburg organizations serving kids: mentoring, foster care, literacy, sports, STEM, and families getting back on their feet.

How it works

A facial hair
marathon.

Like getting pledges for a marathon, minus the cramping and dehydration.

Grower getting a clean shave at the season kickoff

Shave

The season kicks off with a clean shave. Then growers shave everything but the lip at least once a week.

Grow

30 Days across November and December. Mustache only. No beards, no goatees, no excuses.

Growers rally friends, family, coworkers and local businesses to back their stache.

The season ends at the Stache Bash. One mustache is crowned the Sweetest, and the checks go out.

For the 2nd year in a row, local businesses can register a team of up to 10 growers and battle for the Top Team Prize.

Team requirements

  • Each team represents one business or corporation
  • Teams are capped at 10 growers
  • Businesses can't combine or partner to form teams
  • Charities can't participate as teams (but they benefit from your efforts!)

Every grower on a team must also register individually.

M4K Lynchburg improves the quality of life for local children through individual fundraising, partnering with local charities and businesses, and having a little bit of fun with facial hair.
