Camp Mack Giving Day

Whether it's an ice storm in February, or a severe thunderstorm in July, your support can ensure that campers and guests will have minimal impacts from power outages.

In 2022, Camp Mack experienced 8 multi-hour power outages that prevented guests and campers from experiencing the full experience of Camp Mack. Some of these occurred during the busiest weeks of the summer. Without electricity, Camp Mack had to adapt to provide meals and running water to provide a sanctuary experience for people onsite. This showed the importance of planning for power outage resilience. If Camp Mack does not improve power outage resiliency, campers and guests risk having to leave Camp Mack early and miss out on connecting with God, experiencing creation, and building Christian community.

What does power outage resiliency mean?

Independent commercial generators ensure that running water and meal services can continue to function even when the power is out for an extended period.

Battery operated lanterns and flashlights enable guests and campers to continue to enjoy Camp Mack even when the power is out.

With battery backups, Camp Mack can still have essential communication with guest group leaders, counselors, staff, and parents to ensure that campers and guests are taken care of.
