Mea Margry Hernandez, my granddaughter was born sleeping (I prefer Born Sleeping because it's a lil more comforting than saying stillborn).  The loss of Mea was the most painful loss I've ever gone through, the hardest to try to understand, the longest to move forward from (not sure I have sometimes) and the one that every detail is still very clear in my head. Losing Mea was something I could not make better in anything I did for her parents Ryan (my son) and his beautiful wife Rae'na.    

There was a bloodclot in the cord that caused Mea to fall asleep.  It literally happened from one day to the next, she was perfectly fine the night before and giving her Mommy ruckus after dinner as she always did.  There were no signs for concern in any of the Dr. visits Rae'na had.  Everything was perfect and Mea was due to arrive in a few weeks.  

The loss of Mea introduced us to a world we didn't really realize was out there and this world is larger than we knew.  Rae had many Mommy's reach out to her in our community that also had a baby born sleeping or lost shortly after they were born due to an illness or disease.  This world also introduced us to organizations and events to help support families that go through losses such as this.  The Mary -Alice and Friends have become an organization that I really care about and found some new friends through that I feel I can truly call my personal friends and yet I have never met them in person, Jason & Tandy Pratt.  They are the amazing couple that created the Mary-Alice and Friends 5K which helps bring awareness and research to babies born sleeping or sick. 

It turns out for us Mea was a blessing in disquise.  If it weren't for Mea we wouldn't have found out that her Mommy has a blood disorder. 

Please help me in supporting this organization that is near and dear to my heart as I try to raise money in memory of Mea.  I will participate in this event virtually here in Arizona on June 8 and I'll be up bright and early to beat the heat but I WILL get er done.  If you'd like to join my team we are "Mea Margry Hernandez" and you can walk wherever you are or with us from my home and/or you can donate to me or anyone who may join the team.
