What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?
Working the bar at Brouwerij DuBois, working on fixing up our house, or hanging with the family and dogs!
Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?
We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for. Anyone of us, at any time, could get hit with catastrophe and lose it all. We, as a society, are only as strong as our most vulnerable. So it is imperative that we give back whenever we can to help those that need a hand. It's just that simple.
What was the first thing you remember cooking?
Pancakes on Saturday morning with my mom!
Name a fun fact people may not know about you.
I actually enjoy writing poetry occasionally. No, you can't read any of it!

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?
When I’m not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook, you can usually find me spending time with my family, checking out local breweries, and supporting small businesses around the community. I also love hosting gatherings with friends, any excuse to bring people together over good food and good company.
Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?
Supporting the SECU Family House is important to me because it represents what our community does best, showing up for one another. Families come here during some of the hardest moments of their lives, and the House gives them comfort, stability, and a sense of belonging when everything else feels uncertain. I believe in their charter because it’s built on compassion, dignity, and the idea that no one should face a medical crisis alone. By supporting the House, we’re not just funding a place to stay, we’re lifting up our neighbors, strengthening our community, and making sure every family feels cared for when they need it most.
What was the first thing you remember cooking?
Tamales around Christmas. A long family tradition.
Name a fun fact people may not know about you.
I spent six weeks in South Africa last year for work, and it turned into one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. I fell in love with exploring the Cape Town area, from the coastline and mountains to the food, culture, and local businesses. It was the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and community, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for connecting with people wherever I go.

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?
You can find me playing video games or engaging in hobbies with my kids such as Pokémon card trading. I also collect cooking knives. I enjoy smoking meat and cooking outside on my Blackstone and grill with a fire in my Solo Stove!
Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?
The SECU Family House hits close to home for me because my wife works for SECU and she and I see how important it is for our community to be able to offer affordable lodging while seeking medical treatment. This will be my second fundraiser to benefit SECU Family House!
What was the first thing you remember cooking?
I cannot remember when or where exactly, but I remember cooking eggs at a young age. When I was in college, many nights were spent making ramen noodles!
Name a fun fact people may not know about you.
I was not born in the United States and immigrated to Brooklyn, NY, when I was 7 years old. I came to North Carolina to go to college at Appalachian State University.
