Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?
Like many, I know what it’s like to spend hours in an uncomfortable chair when a family member is in hospital. SECU Family House offers the much needed comfort and peace of a home away from home for those going through the stress of a hospitalized family member.
What was the first thing you remember cooking?
Meat, potatoes, onion and carrot in an aluminum foil pouch cooked in a campfire on a scouting trip ?

I once played a concert with Babik Reinhardt, accomplished jazz guitarist in his own right and son of legendary Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt.

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?
After more than 30 years at Hanesbrands, I recently retired. I enjoy reading, cooking, grilling, hiking, spending time with friends and, and learning new things. I especially love relaxing at Lake James and exploring new places through travel.
Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?
It’s a great, affordable option for families outside Forsyth County and nearby areas who are going through tough times due to health issues. The services SECU Family House offers help them focus on treatment, support, and recovery without the extra financial stress of paying for lodging.
What was the first thing you remember cooking?
Scrambled or fried eggs.
Name a fun fact people may not know about you.
In my late teens, I teamed up with three friends from church to form a band. We loved performing at churches and special events, and I look back on those days with great fondness.
