What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?

I enjoy spending time with my family (wife Julie and 9-year-old son Jacob), traveling, camping, and playing golf. I'm a huge sports fan and enjoy watching my favorite teams, the NC State Wolfpack, Washington Commanders, and the Carolina Hurricanes. 

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

With SECU's motto of "People Helping People" it is important we give back to the communities in which we serve. I'm passionate about the Family House because hopefully a clean room, a warm meal, and a few smiling faces can ease the stress and burden on those seeking medical care or with loved ones in the hospital.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

The first thing I remember cooking on my own was burgers and steamed shrimp for a cookout with friends in high school. 

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

One of my life goals is to visit all 50 states. I'm over halfway there, but still have quite a few left!

I enjoy cooking, fishing, traveling, backpacking, and spending time with family and friends.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

The SECU Family House provides more than just a place to stay. It provides a community and support for our friends and neighbors who are facing things that the rest of us hope we will never have to experience.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

Fruit salad with my grandmother.

I have spent more nights in a tent that in any other place I have ever lived.
