What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?

When I’m not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook, I’m probably out on the golf course with my husband or spending time with friends and family. I also love trying new restaurants around the area and visiting wineries whenever I get the chance.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

Giving back to the SECU Family House is especially meaningful to me because my mom and grandmother stayed in a place similar to it while my grandpa was very sick. During one of the hardest times for our family, they had a safe and comforting place to rest and recharge, and I will always be thankful for that.

I’ve also had the opportunity to volunteer at the SECU Family House, and seeing firsthand the support and comfort it provides to families going through difficult situations made the mission even more important to me. Knowing that families can have a place that feels welcoming and supportive during such stressful times is so important, and I’m grateful to be able to give back in any way I can.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

The first thing I remember cooking was Christmas cookies with my grandma. I didn’t know it then, but the kitchen would become one of my favorite places. Some of my best memories were made baking alongside her, especially during the holidays.

I’ve learned a lot from my grandma over the years, but one of the most important things she taught me was the importance of cooking for the people you love. Food has a way of bringing people together, and those moments in the kitchen are something I’ll always carry with me.

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

My husband and I are both named Taylor, which definitely keeps life interesting, especially when someone calls our name and we both respond.

You can usually find me hanging out by the pool with my family and enjoying a good cookout when I’m not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

Giving back to SECU Family House is important to me because the cause is truly impactful and it’s near to me personally. It supports families during some of their most difficult moments, and being able to contribute to something that close to home makes it even more meaningful.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

Easy, a PB&J.

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

I'm a Certified Disney marathoner. I've done all four Orlando parks in 24 hours.

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?

You can usually find me playing soccer and doing my best to pass my love of the game down to my sons. And if there's a karaoke microphone nearby, there's a good chance you'll find me singing a song or three, whether anyone asked for it or not! Gretchen Wilson is my go-to.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

Giving back to the SECU Family House is important to me because it's a great organization that helps so many families when they need it most. They do amazing work and deserve all of the recognition for the impact they make in our community.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

A hot dog. Still one of my favorites to this day.

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

A fun fact about me is that I used to teach ballroom dancing classes on a cruise ship! It was a unique experience that let me meet people from all over the world while helping them learn a few new dance moves. Be sure to ask me about it when you see me because I have plenty of stories to share!
