About Miles for Matches

Are you ready to ride for a great cause and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Fox River Trail? Join us for Miles for Matches, an annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin.

On Friday, August 4, five local businesses will compete to bike the most miles on stationary bikes at Broken Spoke Bike Studio in downtown Green Bay. But that's not all! On Saturday, August 5, we invite you to be a part of our first community bike ride!

Whether you're an advanced rider, an intermediate rider, or a beginner, we have a route for you! The routes range from 4 to 27 miles, so there's something for everyone.

By signing up for the community bike ride, not only will you get to experience the fun of cycling, but you'll also be supporting a great cause. All proceeds from Miles for Matches go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin, an organization that provides one-to-one mentoring relationships for children in need.

In addition to the community bike ride, we are excited to offer a peer-to-peer fundraising option for Miles for Matches. You can create your own fundraising page and invite friends and family to support a great cause!

As a thank you for your fundraising efforts, anyone who raises $250 or more will receive a unique bike jersey. This jersey is a great way to show off your support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin and spread awareness for this important cause.

By raising money peer-to-peer, you'll be helping to provide one-to-one mentoring relationships for children in our community who need it most. Your support can make a huge impact on the lives of these children and their families.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up to ride and start your fundraising today! Let's make this year's Miles for Matches the best one yet!

FAQs

What is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) ages 7 through young adulthood in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

My company is signed up for the Company Ride on August 4, what do I need to do?
If you're part of one of the five companies that is competing you can register to also bike on Saturday, August 5, and you can create a fundraising page to support your team! The company that raises the most money will also win a prize, so every little bit helps! You can learn more at our website!

I want to help raise money for BBBSNEW but I am unable to ride, what can I do?
You can help by creating a fundraising page! Go to the Registration page and click fundraiser. Once you fill out the information, you'll be able to make donations and encourage your friends and family to make donations! We're thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor has generously agreed to match donations raised during Miles for Matches. This means that every dollar you donate will be doubled, making twice the impact on the lives of children in Northeast Wisconsin!

What incentives are there for fundraising?
In addition to helping support one-to-one mentoring for youth in Northeast Wisconsin, people that raise $250 will win a custom BBBSNEW bike jersey!

Are their incentives for registering early?
Yes, the first 100 people to register will receive a Miles for Matches t-shirt! Sign up before they are all gone. Shirts have already been order, so sizes are based on a first come, first served basis!

How can I sign up to be a Big?
We have nearly 100 children on our waitlist who are in need of a Big! If you're interested in being a Big, you can click here to start signing up! We can't wait to welcome you to our program!
