About the Annual Millersville Parade (Millersville, PA):

• This two-hour, prize-winning parade attracts over 17,000 spectators along a two-mile route each fall;
• This parade is one of Lancaster County’s largest parades with participants from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware;
• Primary funding is derived from 80+ local businesses, individual donations, raffles and other fundraisers;
• Serving over 27,000 area residents, this is the single-most largest community area event—with over 2300 participants.
• Now in its 26th year, it has grown in popularity among the parade participants, businesses’ financial support and crowd attendance. The annual budget is $75,000, of which we fundraise throughout the year. The largest expense item is entertainment (approximately $25,000), which includes 20-25 varied music and visual performance groups (i.e., local university and high school bands, drum and bugle corps, bagpipers, U.S. Armed Forces bands, a steel drum band, Philadelphia Mummers bands), floats, impersonators, mascots, fire and emergency groups, twirlers, antique vehicles and more. Other major expenses include prizes for floats, music and marching units, advertising/marketing and general operations;
• It is led by a committee of 16 business/community/university/MU alumni and student members;
• The community cooperative efforts between the Borough of Millersville, the Blue Rock Fire Rescue Commission, Millersville University, the Millersville University Alumni Association and the Penn Manor School District are very strong.
