Minds Matter Colorado is an organization that’s incredibly close to my heart. As a first generation college student, I didn’t have access to a resource like Minds Matter when I was growing up.

Navigating college applications, financial aid, and figuring out what was even possible felt overwhelming. I know firsthand how life changing it would have been to have mentors and support during that time.

That’s why I’m so grateful to now serve as a mentor with Minds Matter Colorado. We work with driven, determined high school students from low-income backgrounds, helping them gain the guidance, confidence, and opportunities they need to get to college and pursue their dreams.

Every Monday night, I meet with my amazing sophomore mentee, and together we’re working toward her goal of getting into the college of her dreams, with scholarships to make it possible. Watching her grow and discover what she’s capable is truly inspiring.
