Hey Fam and Friends,
College matters!
It matters more than ever for youth who will be first in their family, and it's why I've dedicated my professional career to college and career access and have volunteered for MMC for over 10 years.
Our seniors were in 8th grade when the pandemic hit in 2020. All of our students need more support than ever before. They need more support than my students from 10 years ago.
Why does it matter? Let me break it down.
A college education can lead to better:
- salary-earning potential
- access to high-quality hours
- overall health
To be successful in our program our teens need:
- laptops
- transporation (getting downtown can be a struggle bus for some)
- meals
- books and other academic supplies
Our program elements include:
- Saturday Program
- Summer Program (SAT Prep and Mentoring)
- Alumni Program
- Special events
Did I mention we are volunteer-led? Okay, if you are a friend or relative, you know that already. But if you are a looker-lurker who happened to find this page --That part! We are led by volunteers.
