Far too often we try to make a difference in the world, only to find ourselves treating the symptoms instead of the root cause of a problem.  The Virginia Mentoring Partnership is focused on making a real, sustainable, positive impact on children and communities in Virginia.  This is why I was honored to join their board earlier this year.

Hundreds of thousands of young people in our state are in need of positive developmental relationships with caring adults.  There are over 1000 children on waiting lists for mentors.  Without VMP, the situation would be far worse, as the organization has helped match an estimated 40,000 kids with trained volunteers.  

VMP operates as efficiently as a well run organization can.  Nevertheless, it still has bills and salaries to pay.  If you are fortunate enough to be able to give this holiday season, please consider making a donation to this wonderful, vital organization.
