12-12-17 Our son Calvin Samuel Stenberg was born into this world at 12:53pm. He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 22 inches long. He was absolutely perfect in every way. Ten fingers, ten toes, every parents dream. Unfortunately that morning when we went in to give birth to our sweet son they had found he had no heart beat. Everything seemed so unreal, and it still does. I was 2 days away from 39 weeks. Exactly when I wanted to give birth. I couldn't wait to see if we had a boy or a girl, I wanted to hold him or her so badly, see exactly who they looked like. I wanted to have our baby before Christmas, I had all my dreams come true. But our dreams were ultimately shattered. We wanted our son to be alive, kicking, and screaming. I never realized how precious my pregnancy was going too be, it was the only time I had with him when he was alive. I carried him his whole life. I will always cherish all the moments I had with him. He was our fist born. He was our world. He was our hopes and dreams. My whole pregnancy was absolutely amazing, I followed every rule and did everything right. Unfortunately there was no reason they could find why our son did not survive. If only there could be more research to figure out why it happened and what could be done to prevent it from ever happening again. This is why I want to raise money for this amazing foundation that researchs why stillbirths happen, so every pregnancy has a happy ending. My son should be alive today, he would be 6 months old, I imagine the life I should of had with him and it hurts. Everyday hurts knowing I won't ever see him again, or watch him change, or hear his voice or ever see his eyes open. There is so much I will never experience with him but the 9 months we had together was the BEST time of my entire life. He is my pure joy and happiness, my everything.
